Modesto, California Apr 3, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - The homeless population in Stanislaus County has expanded by 28% since the start of the pandemic, making it an epidemic that is affecting the regions prospects. With close to 3000 homeless people, many of whom are unsheltered, sleeping in tents on sidewalks, in parks, and alongside highways, it is essential to provide support to those who need it the most.

To help combat this issue, the Modesto Gospel Mission is working tirelessly to restore lives, provide shelter, and give a second chance to those experiencing homelessness. The organizations efforts have caught the attention of the Modesto Nuts, a Minor League Baseball team of the California League, who are partnering with Chick-Fil-A Manteca and Siegfried to offer the Homerun for Homeless event on April 15th at 6:00 pm.

The event will take place during the Modesto Nuts game against the San Jose Giants at John Thurman Field, Modesto. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the different ways the Modesto Gospel Mission is combating homelessness while cheering on their favorite team. Additionally, there will be a chance to win some great prizes.

All proceeds from the event will go directly to help support life restoration at the Modesto Gospel Mission. With tickets priced at only $10, this is a chance for the community to make a difference and support the cause of ending homelessness. Tickets can be purchased at www.mymission.org/homerun.

We are thrilled to partner with the Modesto Gospel Mission to support their efforts to combat homelessness in our community, said Zach Brockman, General Manager of the Modesto Nuts. We hope that our fans will join us for a fun-filled evening of baseball while supporting a great cause.

Homelessness is a complex issue that requires a community effort to tackle. We are grateful for the support of the Modesto Nuts, Chick-Fil-A Manteca, and Siegfried in our mission to restore lives and provide a safe place for those experiencing homelessness, said Jason Conway, CEO of the Modesto Gospel Mission.

Scott Pernice, Development Director of the Modesto Gospel Mission, said, The Homerun for Homeless event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, raise awareness, and support the homeless population. We thank everyone involved in making this event a reality.

The Modesto Gospel Mission has provided services to poor and homeless people to meet both their tangible and spiritual needs for the last 75 years. The vision for the Modesto Gospel Mission is to provide a place for refuge, recovery, and restoration to the broken, poor, and homeless in our local community.
